IMERSA Canada
IMERSA Canada is an intensive language immersion experience offered several times each year by Collège La Cité. If you want to learn English or French while interacting with other participants, IMERSA is for you!
IMERSA is an online program! You don’t have to leave your house - you can participate in our program from anywhere in the world.
This 3-week immersion experience, offered in French or in English, offers fun, interactive virtual activities, with the goal of quickly strengthening your language skills.
During the three weeks, you will participate in language classes, conversation workshops, and sociocultural activities. You will benefit from the expertise of our language instructors located across Canada.
To determine your language level, you will take the free IMERSA placement test. IMERSA offers multiple language levels in order to make sure that you are placed in the level that is right for you.
Our levels:
- Beginner I and II
- Intermediate I and II
- Advanced
- Advanced for professionals*
*Our "Advanced for professionals" option provides the opportunity to improve your French or English in a professional environment. This experience is offered within a specific profession. Improve your French or English and do some networking!

Example of virtual classes or workshops:
Monday to Thursday
Virtual classes: 11:00 am to 12:30 pm
Virtual workshops: 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
Virtual sociocultural activities: Evenings and weekends (optional)
How much does it cost?
Registration: $ 1,495.00 CAD (plus applicable taxes)**
Language Placement Test: Free at all times
Group size
Minimum of 12 participants required per virtual class.
Up to 20 participants maximum per virtual class.
*Note that we are in North America’s Eastern Standard Time (EST) time zone and that the final schedule will be shared at the time of registration.
**The amount must be paid in full before the start of the language training. 100% reimbursement of fees is possible up to 10 days before the start of the language training. After this time, no refunds are possible.
How to sign up?
To register for IMERSA, you don’t need to be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident. You also don’t need a Canadian Study Permit or Visa. You simply need to meet the following three criteria:
Be 18 years of age or older when your language training begins.
Take the Language Placement Test.
Pay your registration fees.
Note: There are no language-skill requirements.

With plenty of virtual options for all ages, including behind-the-scenes tours, live shows, and cooking lessons, you'll easily be able to access the best of Canada's sociocultural activities!

Receive access to La Cité’s online learning platform
Once you have signed up and paid your registration fees, a representative from La Cité will contact you and provide you with all of the necessary details to prepare for your language training.
